To support our growth, we are looking for an Analyst, FP&A to join our team. Reporting to the FP&A Manager, the Analyst is responsible for providing financial and strategic analysis support related to the management of ShopCore Properties portfolio of shopping centers. Analysis projects may include: preparing monthly financial reports and monitoring investment performance, assisting with the preparation of annual property budgets and quarterly reforecasts, quarterly board materials, asset-level and fund-level financial analysis, and ad hoc analysis & reporting.

 

What you will do:

  • Gather, process, and synthesize financial data from multiple sources through use of accounting system (MRI) and Excel; accurately and timely communicate findings to various internal and external stakeholders for critical management decision-making
  • Develop and analyze monthly and quarterly reports that identify key operating metrics (i.e., ABR, occupancy, WALL, NOI, leasing activity, etc.)
  • Administer the annual property budget process and quarterly re-forecasts by coordinating with various departments including property management, property accounting, leasing, construction / development; build and maintain financial models to collect budget data and prepare  insight into portfolio operations to present to executive team
  • Maintain and create visualizations and financial models that effectively communicate trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data for equity partner presentations and BI dashboards
  • Perform property-level “deep dives” to identify and communicate operating performance against budget and prior-period actuals
  • Partner with multiple departments to monitor and evaluate portfolio and fund performance; report on key drivers and variances to internal and external teams
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, transactional activity, peer market performance, and research perspectives relative to the real estate markets
  • Performs ad hoc analysis for management as required

What you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in Business Administration or a related discipline (Accounting, Economics, Finance, Real Estate) from an accredited college, university
  • 0-2 years' work experience, preferably in the accounting, finance and/or commercial real estate fields
  • A strong work ethic, the strength to thrive in a dynamic and demanding work environment, and an ability to meet critical deadlines.
  • Intelligence with a keen focus on details (e.g., ability to review team members work to ensure accuracy and consistency)
  • Strong analytical skills with a deep knowledge of and mastery of Excel (index/match, indirect, lookups, sumifs, etc.)
  • Experience in PowerPoint is a plus
  • Strong accounting and finance knowledge.
  • Experience in the commercial retail real estate industry is a plus
  • Innovative and problem-solving approach to building and refining financial processes and models
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Prior experience with real estate budgeting/forecasting processes and systems is a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestically
