The Director of Property Management leads a team of dynamic individuals responsible for best-in-class property management throughout the ShopCore portfolio in the Northeast. The ideal candidate is an authentic, self-motivated professional with a talent for developing others to achieve world class results. An expert communicator, the Director will work across all levels of the organization with genuine respect for all.  


What you will do:

  • Develop and lead a team of dynamic property managers responsible for the tenant relations and maintenance of properties located throughout the Northeast.
  • Build strong and supportive partnerships with tenants, mentor property managers to do the same.
  • Take initiative to develop and advance innovative solutions to maintain ShopCore’s status as a “best-in-class” landlord at the national level.
  • Be eyes on! Regularly travel to conduct site visits to assess property condition and ensure maintenance is being completed to ShopCore standards. Identify opportunities for improvement and implement execution plans with timely follow-up.
  • Have uncompromising oversight for creation of scopes of work, bidding of contracts and execution of projects in compliance with company controls and processes.
  • Monitor tenant compliance with lease agreements and proactively resolve problems and concerns.
  • Prepare various financial reports including, but not limited to, accounts payable, variances, tenant sales, CAM reconciliations, and annual operating and capital budgets.  Ensure financial compliance and adjust operational budgets to promote profitability.
  • Manage, lead, and develop the property management staff in the market consistently, ensuring thorough staff understanding and implementation of operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Liaise with peers to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals.
  • Work with a dynamic group of people in other departments like Accounting, Asset Management, Collections, Construction, Development and Leasing to improve the tenant experience while driving financial performance.
  • Bring new ideas, tackle special projects and take on other duties as assigned.  

What you should have:

  • 8+ years proven experience in property management, ideally having led a team in a fast paced retail environment.
  • Self-motivation, self-direction and capability to work independently.
  • Strong financial management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills along with high degree of professionalism.
  • A drive to deliver results and provide exceptional tenant service.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels of an organization.
  • A willingness to travel and be onsite at properties in all types of weather conditions.
  • A forward-thinking mindset with a desire to innovate and improve property functions.
  • Comfort with a broad base of technology platforms including thorough knowledge of Microsoft applications. MRI experience is helpful.
  • Professional accreditation through ICSC, IREM or BOMA is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
