Due to our continued expansion, ShopCore Properties has an immediate opening for an energetic, conscientious and detail-oriented Collections Specialist who enjoys making a difference, being part of a team, and takes pride in their career.

 

As of the date on which this job advertisement is posted, the Company anticipates that the base salary range for this role is $55,000-$75,000, 10% bonus target (this represents the presently-anticipated low and high end of the Company’s base salary range for this position).  Total direct compensation may also include discretionary bonus and/or incentive compensation. Actual base salary range may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location and experience.

 

What you will do:

 

As the Collections Specialist, one is held accountable to, however not limited to, the following job functions: 

  • Monitor, report on and collect outstanding receivables in a timely and courteous manner
  • Set up and instruct tenants on payment portal use; field questions regarding portal
  • Work to resolve problem receivables with the Tenant, Accounting, Property Management, and the Legal Department
  • Update financial system with relevant tenant account status notes
  • Research, resolve and respond to questions received via telephone, email, voicemail in a timely and courteous manner
  • Understand and comply with internal control procedures and company policies and procedures
  • Apply standard policies and procedures; investigate questionable data to recommend actions to resolve discrepancies
  • Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed

 

What you should have:

  • 3-5 years in related function required
  • Education and work experience requirements may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience
  • Previous industry experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills necessary
  • Exceptional problem solving and organizational skills needed
  • Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities and deadlines, with attention to detail and an ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel and general ledger accounting software required
  • MRI experience preferred
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Ability to be proactive and demonstrate initiative in projects and tasks
  • High degree of integrity
