ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

Our IT Internship was created to develop and invest in future technology leaders. The IT Intern is hired for a 10-week experience where they learn the fundamentals of analyzing new business solutions through information gathering, analysis, project management and delivery, continual monitoring, and experiencing the culture of ShopCore. This position is based out of ShopCore’s headquarters in Chicago, IL. The IT Intern is a key position on the Information Technology team primarily responsible for owning short term special projects at both the portfolio and asset level. They will perform an initial assessment within our IT landscape, work with stakeholders to gather specifications, and own their project management end to end. The IT intern is also part stakeholder of day-to-day IT communications and engagement with all other departments – we are honorary members of all teams.

 

Our 2023 summer internship program will begin June 2023 and last through August 2023. To be eligible, you must be a college student during the time of the internship program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in evaluating and updating daily work and special projects through weekly standup/teardown meetings and daily huddles.
  • Assist in quantifying the value of IT initiatives to stakeholders.
  • Managing day-to-day communication with non-IT project teams.
  • Participate in standardizing company data through compliance, governance, protocols, and standards as necessary.
  • Bring creative solutions to improve existing workflows, processes, data management, and communication during acquisition, operations, and disposition of our assets.
  • Evaluating and monitoring project progress of new and existing initiatives and notifying project team when project anomalies are discovered.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work in Chicago in a full-time capacity for 10 weeks, beginning in June of 2023.
  • Current junior undergraduate student at an accredited four-year institution (graduating 2024).
  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or other STEM related field.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5.
  • Familiarity with web development, APIs, GIT, Postman, and/or Salesforce preferred.
  • General proficiency in Microsoft office applications.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized, motivated, energetic, and independent with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Collaborate at all levels, working with team members, senior management, and business owners to move projects forward.
  • Must demonstrate time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, deliver timely and accurate work products with a customer service focus, and respond with a sense of urgency as required.
